Vegetarians suck animal blood, carnivores suck human blood.
Diet is literally the only difference. In Breaking Dawn, several vampires gather but the majority suck human blood. While they have an alliance with the Cullens and have mutual respect for human life, they still suck human blood. It doesn’t make them a vegetarian just because a vampire is nice.

I think the “carnivore” ones seemed to be a lot meaner. They werent kind at all and seemed to only care about themselves. The vegetarians were more loving and obviously they dont attack humans. The carnivores with red eyes seemed to only care about their next meal and nothing could deter them from them.

technically they are both carnivores. the vegetarian ones are more civilized and controlled which is the main difference. They do not want to take innocent human minds.

there isn’t really much of a difference
it just that the vegetarians are probably more civilized
then the human eating ones
but there is one big difference the human eating one are much stronger because human blood makes a vampire stronger as edward says in eclipse

Yeah, you’ve basically got it right.
Vegetarians are like the Cullen family, they live like normal humans, go to school, in a house.
Carnivores are like James, Victoria, Laurent. They live in wild, traveling around to places. They don’t stay in one spot.
The difference between the two is their diets, vegetarians don’t feast on humans but carnivores do. That also indicates the color of there eyes. Vegetarians have topaz-colored eyes, and carnivores has red eyes.
