They cannot enter a home unless invited.

Also they don’t have a reflection in mirrors which would give them away.

    there’s a couple of things
    silver is hated by vamps
    as are crucifixes
I also heard they cannot cross running water
    holy water burns them
they cannot enter a home unless invited

as for likes, i think it depends on the vamps personality before they were turned i’d imagine

Besides what you mentioned, they hate crosses and really get scared if they see you coming at them with wooden stakes. thank God, they are only fictional characters. Of course, they only like blood. Holy water burns them as does sunlight. Can’t think of anything else

Vampires like quiet walks along moonlit beaches…

Seriously, it depends on which mythos you are referring to. Medieval Europe had very different ideas of vampires than say the ancient Romans. Even within a country, you can have various different versions of the vampire mythos. The “modern” vampire came into form with the success of penny dreadfuls like Varney the Vampire, followed by Bram Stoker’s Dracula. So it really depends on what you are trying to do to determine what they like or dislike.

Which vampires are we talking about? The ones from novels, movies, ancient lore and legend, or the modern day “vampire”?

well, it depends what sort of vampires you are talking about because they are all different. i mean, look at the anne rice novels – they hate sunlight of course, and hate being lonely, but they are fine with crucifixes, and the stake through the heart doesn’t kill them. Also, in order to make another of their kind, they have to make a mortal drink vampire blood, not just bite them. On the other hand, the vampires in the darren shan books, for example, still age, albeit slowly and don’t seem to mind being alone. Traditional vampires are generally pictured as wearing heavy black cloaks, sleeping in cemetary’s, hissing at sunlight, killed by a stake through the heart etc etc. So it all depends on the type of vampire you are thinking of. I hope this was of some help to you!

Well there are so many different vampire myths.

The Twilight (stephenie meyer’s) vampires don’t HAVE to drink blood to stay alive, they just go crazy if they don’t. Sunlight doesn’t hurt them, it makes them sparkle. They have venom. Crosses don’t hurt them. The only way to kill them is by another vampire and human knives and stuff can’t hurt them at all.

They also tend to have a strong dislike of blonde perky high school girls who carry sharpened bits of wood :)

First Vampires Hate Sunlight you got that and then garlic is another. Yes crosses work, and here are some weird ways in folk lore that you can occupy a vampire while you RUN AWAY! First if you drop a handful of sand the vampire will have to pick up every piece before it can chase you this works with seeds, grain any small object that you have alot of.
And you can alos throw a newspaper at them and they will have to read every word.
