No, no they don’t. Look up Vlad the Impaler, that was the inspiration for Dracula.

There are people that act like vampires. Every myth has a bit of truth in it. Transylvania is real and is now a part of Hungary. My husband’s family is from there.

There are psychic vampires. These are people that drain you of emotional energy. They tend to feed off of others because they have little life of their own.

Transylvania was a place in early Europe, I think near Romania. Vlad the Impaler lived there and was the seed for Dracula.

Countess Elizabeth Bathory was a woman who bathed in and drank blood. She was the model for vampires, even more-so than Vlad.

Transylvania did exist, and it is where modern day Romania is.

Vampirism does exist, in a way. There are people who need to drink blood to get extra iron, but they don’t turn into bats or bite people on the neck.

There are modern day vampires who go to clubs and drink each others’ blood from vials and what-not, but they probably don’t need it to survive. It’s a subculture thing.

The vampires from myths Do Not Exist.

Vlad the impaler crated the myth about vampires because of the way he killed people. Transylvania is real. I think the reason most staories say that Vampires live there is because that is were Vlad lived

You have been reading way too much about vampires.
Vampires are not real, they are fictional mythical creatures that exist only in stories and movies. Like Hobbits, Elves, and Goblins, and faeries.

And assuming vampires were real, you would not ‘love’ to meet them, because they’d kill you.

Vampires do not exist, just like God doesn’t exist; both were based off of real people but are fake.

There are people who drink blood, but it’s not the same.

Transilvania does exist (it’s in the mountanous region of Carpathia, in Romania):

Vampires do not exist, they are mythical creatures that you can find in almost any culture’s folklore.

    1. Do vampires really exist?
The answer to this question depends on your definition of the word vampire. If you feel that vampires are the creatures depicted in movies such as Near Dark and in books such as Dracula and Interview With A Vampire, then I would have to say no. To date, I have not met or even heard of a varafiable creature such as that.
If on the other hand, you beleive that vampires are people who are basically normal with the exception of one or two abnomalities such as hypersensitivity to light, heightened psychic abilities, and the physical need to consume blood, then my answer would be yes.

They do exist, but not in the way you believe them to exist. They’re just kinky people who sharpen their teeth and suck each other’s blood because they get off on it. They call themselves vampires and dress in the stereotypical vampire fashion–clothes from Hot Topic and Tripp. They shun the sunlight, even though it does nothing to them, and they actually sleep in coffins. I saw this segment on Ripley’s Believe it or Not.

Basically, they’re the modern day freak. Or the modern day vampire as they like to put it.

Vampires don’t really exist, but they’re based in part on some real people, including the Transylvanian Vlad the Impaler and the Hungarian Elizabeth Bathory, who tortured and killed hundreds of girls and young women. It was rumored that she bathed in their blood.

Transylvania really exists and is part of Romania.

Legends of vampirism may also have arisen due to poor understandings of several diseases. Rabies, for example, produces hypersensitivity to light like that attributed to vampires, and the rare condition porphyria. There is also a psychological disorder called Renfield’s Syndrome that is characterized by an obsession with drinking blood.

There is also plenty of inrpiration from nature: vampire bats, ticks, mosquitoes, fleas, etc. etc. etc. And it is common in many cultures to consume animal blood, thanks to its nutritional qualities. In fact, it’s common to consume small amounts in THIS culture, if you like your meat rare or medium rare.

Today there is also a subset of the goth subculture that behaves like (and sometimes genuinely believes they are) vampires:

I believe vampire LARPs (Live Action Role Plays) are also pretty popular, though they’re a very different thing than the Vampire Lifestyle crowd.

Transylvania is in Romania,a rather dark city you could say!!There you can find the castle of Dracula(Vlad)!!

Vampires in the mythological sense; can fly, transform into bats/mist, drink every drop of blood in their victims etc., do not exist.

People who think they are vampires and believe that they need blood or energy from others may be more sensitive to light, sounds, smells, and tastes, but only slightly. Nothing superhuman; just easier to get sunburnt, maybe headaches from lights, can smell/taste things slighty better (possibly only in their opinion). These people are born that way (although i’ve heard most awaken to these changes during or after puberty-this may or may not be true im not 100% sure.).
