Any suggestions on good fantasy books to read? Maybe about magic, vampires or werewolves?
bookn3rd asked:
Books dont have to be about magic, vampires or werewolves. But those are my favorite. Just mostly looking for some good fiction. Please leave title and author if you can.

The Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton. The first book in the series is called Guilty Pleasures. Great series, it’s awesome! I would also check out the DragonLance series starting with Dragon’s of Autumn Twilight. There’s also the Twilight Series by Stephanie Meyer. And you if you like the violent aspect of vamps I would highly recommend the 30 Days of Night graphic novel series, it’s seriously amazing.

Okay, you asked for it, it’s not my fault if your eyes hurt after this.
YA type things:
-Harry Potter (duh. but it had to be said)
-The Twilight Series- Stephenie Meyer
-Pendragon series by DJ MacHale
-The Keys to the Kingdom series, and
-The Seventh Tower Series (both by Garth Nix)
-The House of Night Series (about vampires, and they come out really quickly- very good, funny too) by PC and Kristin Cast
-City of Bones and City of Ashes by…dang I forget who but look it up on barnes and noble
-The named, the dark, and the key by marianne curley (i think i got the name right)
-stuff by amelia atwater-rhodes if you want a good, quick read
-Tantalize by Cynthia leitich smith
-Jinx by meg cabot
Not so YA options:
-Anne Rice (LOVE)
-The Anna Strong series (the becoming, blood drive, the watcher, etc. these are AMAZING) by Jeanne Stein
-13 Bullets…. I forget the author, but look it up its amazing also gory but AWESOME
-Neil Gaiman’s stuff is always good (I’ve read neverwhere, american gods, and Good omens, for instance)
-The Vampire Files by P.N. Elrod
most of these are series so theres a ton of books involved. ive read all of them, and i never recommend something i dont love. plus lots of them are still series-in-progress so more will come out soon.
I could probably go on for a few more pages but I’ll give your eyes a break. Contact me if you wish to know more.
Hope it was thorough enough for you! (it’s my favorite genre, can you tell??)

I have answered this question so many times, I decided to dedicate a web site to answer this question. Here it is:
Included is a list of only the best sorcery fantasy books, grade reading level, a short review of each book along with a brief summary of adult content. There is also a “Readers’ Choice” list of favorite books, and a list of heroine sorcery fantasy books, plus a full review of “The Golden Compass”.
For vampires, nothing that I have read beats Dracula. Free online, and although it starts out *very* slowly, by the time you’ve finished you’ll wonder why no one told you how great it is before now.
I have yet to read a really excellent werewolf story that was not very short, but the best full-length werewolf story that I have ever read is “Lila the Werewolf” by Beagle. It’s about a woman in New York City that this guy is dating – and she happens to be a werewolf. Interesting, stark and adult.
I hope this helps.

Not sure how old you are. But if you are a ‘mature’ reader, try these:
George R.R. Martin – Song of Fire and Ice series
Steven Erikson – Tales of Malazon series
R. Scott Bakker – Prince of Nothing trilogy
Robin Hobb – Farseer Trilogy
If you are younger I’d go with the Twilight Series, Golden Compass etc…….
