How do they make the vampires on True Blood shed red tears (tears of blood) when they cry?

I’ve been watching True Blood (yes, I really like it ) and I was curious.. how do they make them cry red tears? Also, whenever they CRY, they really have to cry right, to shed the tears? Cause there are actors in the industry who act like they’re crying and stuff without shedding tears..

I always wondered.

It must be special effects and stuff, they can’t like insert a pipe in their eye or something o_o
