How come the Buffybot was enough of a decoy to the underworld when Buffy had a grave following her death?

This inconsistency has always gotten to me, and I can’t find any explanation on any of the various Buffy forums. At the end of season 5, Buffy dies. We see her grave in the closing shot of the finale. In “The Bargaining, Part 1,” the premiere of season 6, we learn that the Scoobies have been using the Buffybot to keep the demon underworld at bay, because if anybody found out the slayer was dead, Sunnydale would be overrun with demons (which happens when Buffybot is found out to be a robot). Here’s the rub: BUFFY HAS A GRAVE. Did a single vampire in the entire small town of Sunnydale not notice there was a funeral and a plot with a headstone reading “Buffy Summers: She saved the world… a lot?”

I’ve actually given this thought myself in the past and I can’t deny Good Monkey or Eli’s logic it’s hard to argue someone is dead because a stone says so when they’re standing in front of you and kicking your ass.

So how on earth did they not sense that she wasn’t human but a machine? The robot had no blood, no pulse, no heartbeat. It would have smelt different. According to Buffyverse vampire rules they should have picked up on that.
As far as i’m concerned, a vampire that can’t tell the difference between silicone and wires and a potential dinner, isn’t a very good vampire, and has a significantly reduced chance of survival.
