How come some songs that I download and/or listen to on the internet and CDs are missing pieces of music?

I download a song by “Godsmack” called “vampires” and even listened to it on the CD and there is a piece of guitar chorus missing. And I downlloaded a few chevelle songs with parts of the guitar choruses not playing. Its like i am listening to it then when the part hits it doesn’t play as if someone had taken it out. How come this is happening?
