Vampire Questions:

vampiresss?

ok well Im blonde, and have pale skin…not overly pale though like healthy looking skin…Im dressing up as a vampiress for halloween…I have black heals, tight jeans..that make my legs look very long…lol..umm…and a black shirt with a purple rose…its really pretty….welll how should I do my eye make-up and all…? can you give me any links to look at pictures…and you can give sugestions to do with hair also and other makeup and stuff like that…oh and anywhere can I get life like fangs that rnt expensive? like normal stores

You should get a black wig. That would make you look really pale. Do your eyes with dark colors like purples. Use eyeliner. A nice blood red type of lipstick would be good.

Choosing a Halloween Costume

It is that time of year again when everyone can get dressed up in a Halloween costume and be as scary as possible.  Fancy dress outfits are always great fun, but at this time of the year they are an absolute scream (no pun intended).

The only thing that you need to help you, when it comes down to choosing an outfit, is your imagination.  There are literally hundreds of different things to dress up as for a fancy dress party at this time of year.  You can choose a Halloween costume from one of the traditional selections or you could think of a well known horror film and base your outfit on a character from that.  If imagination is something that comes to you easily then you could dream up your very own scary outfit.

So, if you are opting for a traditional look, you will need to choose from the usual group of suspects.  The most popular character for a Halloween costume has to be Dracula.  The lord of the undead is always a great choice when it comes to parties.  Alternatively, for female guests, there is the option of the ‘sexy vampiress’ or one of Draculas’ many ghostly brides.  Whilst we are on the subject of the living dead, Zombies always go down an absolute treat at this type of function.

Other characters that are a popular include Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, The Ghoul and The Creature from the Black Lagoon.  These are all classic characters and you will have no difficulty whatsoever when it comes to finding them in a selection of fancy dress outfits.  Going to a ‘Halloween costume party’ dressed up as an alien is another good option, but try to make it as scary as possible.  Some interstellar travellers tend to look a bit on the cute side.  This is not going to be very effective on All Hallows Eve; think along the lines of ‘Predator’ rather than ‘E.T.’.

If you are going to choose a scary film as the theme for your Halloween costume then it is advisable to find one that other guests will recognise.  For example, a good choice would be Edward Scissorhands.  Everyone is familiar with that character and people will know who you are supposed to be straight away.  What would be inadvisable would be for you to dress up as a specific monster that is visible in the background of a certain scene of ‘Granny meets the Blender Killer’.  I think you get the idea…

For those people who have a vivid imagination, it can be just as much fun inventing a Halloween costume as it is to wear one.  There are all sorts of things that you can do to make yourself look scary.  Fake blood is readily available from lots of different places and there are even kits which allow you to create your very own hairy boils and growths.  It only takes a very small amount of time to come up with some pleasantly revolting injuries and convincing physical defects.

Vampires Twilight

Vampire Questions:

Whats the difference between vegetarian and carnivore vampires in the Twilight Series?

whats the difference between nonhuman eating vampires and human eating vampires in Twilight? like wut things do they do different? i know vegetarian dont eat human, live in a house and hang around human. but carnivore eat human and live in the wild! please tell me. thanxs! :)

Normal vampires that eat humans have red eyes, they don’t necessarily live in the wild. Since they don’t have to sleep though, they don’t require a house. The nomad vampires roam around and eat whenever they feel like it. Some normal vampires (such as the Volturi) actually do live in a house, and have their food brought to them.

Vegetarian vampires eat animals have golden/topaz eyes. They tend to be more civilized and live in houses and interact with humans more (though the only two covens we know of that are like this are the Cullens and the Denalis). Vegetarian vampires also have a much better self-control. They tend to keep relationships better, and they are more compassionate.

Also, some normal vampires live in the streets and basements, and do have a permanent location. In the South, vampires have ‘territories’ and fight other covens for them. The territories are their feeding grounds.
When the Volturi want someone to join them, they will have Chelsea break any bonds they have with anyone else and form a bond with them. It was proven that the bond manipulations are less effective on vegetarian vampires, since Eleazar was able to leave the Volturi with Carmen.

Beyond The Twilight Vampires

Opinions vary greatly on the phenomenon known as The Twilight Saga. In sharing mine, I will dwell specifically on the books. As for the Twilight movies, let’s just agree that they are an “attempt” to bring Stephenie Meyer’s visions to life. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, they are what they are. If ticket sales are any indication, they seem to have mass appeal, vampire purists notwithstanding.

As for me, I enjoyed the first two movies and look forward to the next two. But, I enjoyed them for what I expected them to be. Third-party interpretations, compressed into abbreviated Hollywood productions, subtle and poignant details sometimes sidestepped for the sake of box office glory. Mission accomplished.

Having never heard of Twilight or having seen the movie when I picked up the book, I entered the Forks world with an open mind and no preconceived notions. I simply thought I was about to read yet another vampire story – complete with fangs, blood and a new author’s twist on some of the legendary aspects we’ve come to expect.

What I got, less than four chapters in, was a tongue-in-cheek surprise. Instead of my anticipated tale of dark creatures preying on our fears, I found myself knee-deep in some kind of teenage, social misfit story told in the first person. A female teenager. I considered setting the book aside more than once. Not my usual fare.

Fortunately, my curiosity kept me reading. Like millions of others around the globe, I was sucked into the high school drama of Bella Swan, a clumsy outcast finding her first love in the form of the one guy no one else could acquire. Edward Cullen was the beautiful boy-idol the girls found irresistibly different and secretly desirable. His unobtainable status and initial revulsion of Bella’s presence was enough to keep me reading. Like everyone else, I wanted to know why.

Twilight has been publicly mislabeled as a vampire story. In reality, it’s a love story. The simple girl with typical doubts and insecurities who meets what seems to be the ultimate, but unreachable object of her uncertain affections. Stephenie Meyer uses this romantic platform to launch a broad tale that includes suspense and fantasy as a backdrop for Bella’s impossible infatuation.

As a result, you find yourself enjoying a well-plotted relationship story that just happens to involve vampires. Meyer’s tale is so simple, yet compelling, that I found myself ordering the next three volumes before I had completed the first.

Bella Swan is the every-girl damsel in situations beyond her control, struggling to deal with her discovery of Edward Cullen and his family – and what they are. Torn between natural fears of the common dangers vampires represent and the overwhelming allure created by the mere presence of Edward, Bella embraces the attraction of an endless love. Who can blame her? A dangerous life with the perfect boy or the dreary existence of a teenage nobody.

Vampire purists have openly detracted the Stephenie Meyer versions of the fanged creatures. In fact, the Twilight vampires don’t even have fangs. Fangs are never mentioned. Only venom coated teeth. And while Meyer goes on to offer other unexpected twists on traditional vampire lore, the core attractions are still there. The romanticism of immortality. The mental powers and superhuman qualities that make vampires so magnetic to mere humans. To those who claim she has tarnished the genre, get real. Vampires are the product of fantasy and folklore. It is the artist’s right to be creative and imaginative.

To that end, Stephenie Meyer succeeded, giving us a heart-wrenching love story and unforgettable characters. Twilight deserves its iconic status in pop culture.

Looking beyond the Twilight Saga vampires, Twilight is just a good story. No abrasive language, sex, drugs or adult situations. Fun for anyone who wants to sink their teeth into tale of forbidden love with life and death consequences.
