I now know what it is like to die. We are all going to Hell, because only in a world ruled by Satan and devoid of a kind and loving God could a movie like Vampires Suck exist.

To put it another way, this is not a very good movie. It’s an utterly toothless satire of Twilight and New Moon, and if that pun made you laugh, then you’re in luck – a large majority of the jokes in the movie are puns ripped straight from the pages of a knock-knock joke book for third graders. This replaces the duo’s former tropes of lame Michael Jackson jokes and Brangelina adoption references. This movie actually shows Friedberg and Seltzer breaking some new comedy ground by exchanging some of their old bad habits for new habits that are bad in completely different ways. For example, there isn’t a single midget to be found, and only one character gets farted on. Also gone are the parade of endless pop-culture references and characters from random movie trailers. These have been replaced by… absolutely nothing. Vampires Suck may very well be the first comedy ever made that consists almost entirely of characters walking between set-pieces, and occasionally driving between them. Most of this is in slow-motion. Not all has changed, though – the movie contains the absolutely staggering amount of fight sequences and totally pointless dance-offs that Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer are known for. In fact, the last fifteen minutes are almost entirely made up of alternating dancing and fighting scenes.

Now, I know my usual thing with reviews of these kinds of movies is to go over every single joke, but I can’t bring myself to do that for this one. Not because the jokes are so excruciatingly bad, but because they’re so excruciatingly dull (also, because since the movie’s not out yet, I’m trying to keep my spoilage to the bare minimum as to not get sued.) At least Disaster Movie had the courtesy to be spectacularly atrocious. If anything, it exists as a time capsule of the very moment we, as a society, decided that having people dressed like pop culture figures walk onto the screen and state their name directly into the camera could constitute as an entire joke. Vampires Suck, however, is so unremittingly lame that mocking it seems almost cruel. For example, take the scene that parodies the part in New Moon where Bella drives a motorcycle really fast down a winding dirt road. In Vampires Suck, Bella drives a motorcycle really fast down a winding dirt road… while playing a guitar! Or, take the parody of with scene from Twilight where Edward watches Bella sleep. In Vampires Suck, Edward watches Bella sleep… while wearing curlers in his hair and applying Crest Whitestrips! How do you even make fun of something like that? It’s two minutes of setup apiece, and neither one ends in a complete punchline. It’s the cinematic equivalent of an editorial cartoon from Readers Digest. “Werewolf peeing on a fire hydrant” is ripped straight out of a Halloween-themed colouring book. “Vampires eat Count Chocula” is so lame it wouldn’t be printed on a box of Count Chocula.

Let’s try going over the very first scene in detail. The movie opens with Edward Sullen (if you’re already rolling your eyes, I highly recommend closing your browser window now) exposing himself to the Volturi at a Vampire-themed High School prom. Stripping naked in the sunlight, his body starts to glitter and his penis turns into a disco ball (this is the audience’s cue to march out of the theatre and demand a refund.) The Volturi stand around and apply sunblock while drinking True Blood out of 40oz malt liquor bottles. A swarm of women in Team Edward shirts, and another swarm of women in Team Jacob shirts, start duking it out with medieval weapons for no particular reason, except to introduce a running gag where Twilight is a series of books and movies that exists in a universe that’s identical to Twilight already, except with far more characters getting kicked in the groin. This gag later culminates into the cast going to the movies to watch Eclipse and spoiling the ending to the people waiting in line. It’s the kind of metahumor that Mel Brooks could pull off effortlessly in his prime. Vampires Suck, however, makes Dracula: Dead and Loving It seem like Young Frankenstein. It makes Stan Helsing seem like Dracula: Dead and Loving It. Anyway, Bella comes running to save him, leaping high into the air in slow motion, a gag that will be repeated approximately one hundred and eighty billion times by the end of the movie. A vampire with one giant middle tooth leaps in the air to stop Becca. The movie freeze-frames here, and it’s the last we’ll see of the Volturi again until this exact same scene happens again during the climax in slightly under an hour.

That’s less than two minutes of running time right there. By the 18 minute mark, there have already been two giant fight scenes, two incest jokes, a bowling ball getting dropped on a baby, the cast of The Jersey Shore showing up in a high school cafeteria for no reason whatsoever, and good look at a vampire’s Facebook profile (same as everyone’s, apparently). Twilight’s famous scene of a fan blowing Bella’s scent to Edward is parodied by having Edward put on a hazmat suit. A man gets his neck broken and screams in pain for a disturbing length of time. Bella farts in her sleep and blows Edward out the window. Edward shows he’s dangerous by shooting Alice and knocking her down the rabbit hole. Edward is attacked by a vampire squirrel. I’m not even skipping that much – the movie is really that devoid of jokes, and the ones that do exist really are that dire. The jokes that aren’t horribly disgusting are so juvenile they’d be rejected from a Saturday morning cartoon. Vampires put condiments on people, drink blood with a silly straws, wear false teeth, see the big picture by literally looking at a giant picture, and walk human-form werewolves on leashes. A vampire drinks someone’s blood by biting them on the INSERT FANGS HERE tattoo on their neck. The movie ends with Ken Jeong being made Prom King, a plot that was only introduced five minutes earlier, and Edward gets killed by a girl with a TEAM JACOB shirt. It’s even more boring to write about than it is to watch, and I can’t imagine reading it is any easier. And I haven’t even touched on the smaller gags, like how all the businesses in town of Sporks (yes, Sporks) are Vampire-themed.

There are exactly five punchlines that the movie recycles over and over again, and they are LOL VAMPIRES, LOL GROSS, LOL PUN, LOL GAY, and LOL BLACK. I’ve covered the first three in more than enough detail already, but the last two deserve a brief look. I’ve accused Friedberg and Seltzer of making movies that come across homophobic and racist in the past, and this movie isn’t any different. All of the buff, shirtless natives are flamingly gay and dance to “It’s Raining Men”, and the black vampire is perpetually stoned. The movie has exactly one black character, and he’s a stoner. In 2010. I honestly can’t remember a single black character from any Seltzerberg movie that wasn’t a massive pothead, or a single gay character that wasn’t flaming. I’m not sure how a script with a gay character yelling “Go get him, girls!” to a bunch of other gay men managed to get greenit in twenty fucking ten, but here it is!

The casting of this movie is just downright depressing. The head of the Volturi is played by Ken Jeong, who gets maybe five minutes of screen time, and manages to do absolutely nothing with it. His character is given no motivation or character definition, and his pasty white makeup ends up making him look like he has food poisoning. Dave Foley has even less screen time as the High School principal, and spends his few brief scenes on the verge of tears and with a look of utter self-loathing in his eyes. Diedrich Bader, who plays Bella’s father, gives the movie its single good performance, and occasionally manages to reel the movie in from “unwatchable” to just “bad”. The rest of the cast is passable, neither good or memorably bad. Everyone and everything is just so forgettable that I started hoping for a truly terrible performance just so something interesting would happen.

Do the Cullens really turn Bella into a vampire, or do they change their mind?

I can’t get Eclipse or the last book for a long, long time and I need to know!!! Is there an application or a website where I can read Eclipse online?
And I actually have a second question, too.
If they turn Bella in a vampire, what book do they do it on?

It happens in Breaking Dawn. Edward puts his venom into a needle and puts it in her heart because she is dying while giving birth to her daughter Renesme. She ends up with a gift aswell.

If you want to know more information you can IM me and I can tell you what you want to know about the Twilight series.

Larp Necromancers and How to Play Them in Larp Games

Live Action Role Playing – Necromancers in LARP/LRP

The idea of Live Action Role Playing or LARP is to take on a different persona to who you are in everyday life. Whatever genre the game or system you are taking part in is based on will decide and almost definitely limit the type of character that you can play. My article is about playing a Necromancer and the different ways they can be portrayed by you on larp events.

Necromantic Larp Costume

When you go Larping you will need to gather a costume together and a number of props and phys reps that improve and add to the overall look. A classic fantasy Necromancer is likely to be swathed in black, probably a robe and a hood, gloves too can help and a pale complexion of someone who has forgotten what it is like to venture out in daylight. Any extras you can add to this will make the character look more impressive. Skull motifs look good plus a surgeon’s bag or similar collection of instruments needed when dealing with dead bodies.

What is Necromancy in Larp?

The Encarta dictionary describes necromancy as the practice of attempting to communicate with the spirits of the dead in order to predict or influence the future. On Live Action Roleplaying events necromancers will not only talk to the dead but in many cases will attempt to animate them as zombies skeletons or even more powerful types of undead such as mummies wraiths and vampires. A classic live role playing necromancer will be trying to raise an army of undead to conquer the world!

How to make your larp Necromancer a bit different

Not every necromancer has to be the classic fantasy type described above and seen on numerous movies and portrayed in fantasy books. A necromancer can be an expert in all things to do with dead bodies lost civilisations and ancient languages; a slightly darker Indiana Jones. They could be a very scholarly type or a different version of a medium oracle seer or fortune teller. It is up to you whether or not you want to make your larp character that bit more unique and any player in any live role playing system could be their usual class or type during the day but at night has a morbid fascination with all things dead!

How not to get your Larp Necromancer killed

Playing evil characters in larp is always difficult; there is a very fine line between role playing evil and actually turning the other people larping against you. In a player vs player system like Herofest you will find it very important to make friends or allies with other like minded characters and can actually join a necromancers faction called the Tombs of the Dymwan, however remember evil is often selfish and can turn in on itself so beware your allies as well! In a player vs monster larp system like Heroquest make a point of being evil towards the monsters and not towards other players who are then much more likely to fight alongside you and aid you rather than leaving you to get killed by monster attacks.

Other useful information on Necromancers on Larp events

It is always important when starting a new live role playing character to discuss it with the referees who are in charge of that lrp system. They may have particular ground rules for necromancy which you will need to adhere to. In most cases they will be able to aid you with your character background and even link you in with campaign history and past events. Remember like in all larp the most important thing to do is to have fun and enjoy.

The story revolves around a girl named Carrie (Spacek), who is cruelly and often picked on in high school. Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn [Blu-ray]
Evil Dead II is more of a remake than a sequel. Armed with a higher budget, writer-director Sam Rami was able to bring more decapitations, zombies, supernatural monsters and bloodshed. Even with these elements involved, the movie itself is a hilarious, finely tuned slapstick satire of horror films. Rami takes ever horror cliche and amplifies it with extraordinary special effects, along with jeering juvenile humor. The plot is a simple one, several teenagers go to the country for a holiday. They stay in a broken down cabin in the woods, miles from anywhere. There they discover the Book of the Dead. Soon the accidentally unleash a supernatural evil being that kill everyone. All except the character Ash. Played by Bruce Campbell, in one of the greatest frenzied feats of physical comedy every seen on film. He spend most of the film getting his body brutalized while fighting this supernatural evil. While mainly unseen in theaters, this film has become a hugely influential cult video.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre [Blu-ray]

Many people have tried to describe The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, calling it grisly, sick, perverse and raw. But without a doubt it is a movie that redefined the horror genre. Churches organized protested against it. Governments went as far as banning the movie. Only a few scant, brave critics dared give the movie any kind of acclaim. Audiences were astounded by it worldwide. Setting a new standard in terror. The writer-producer-director responsible was Tobe Hooper, who in 1974 brought us a story of five friends who face the ultimate nightmare at the hands of a psychotic Texas family. Regarded as one of the most frightening movies ever made, it is also a shining example of independent film-making.

Real Lyric Poems, Genuine Songs: The Music Of Available Movies

For some grounds, Music turns a big part of Unrestricted Movies. Of course, one can say that Music takes on a huge part in a number of Movies in any case, mainstream or not, but this is sabotaging how a numerate of Individual Movies habit and select the Euphony and the Lyrics of the vocal they opt. This means Unrestricted films give much thought to the Vocals they role; on the other hand, mainstream Pictures (made by big moving-picture show studios) sometimes just exercise Songs popular hits from renowned artists without even counting if the Words and Music of these Songs fit.

Individual moving-picture shows have to make genuine everything about the song fits the flick from the Music to the Wordsbecause, beyond the quality of the film itself, it doesnt have much going for it; it doesnt have the budget for promotions and expensive special effects, for one. The Songs, with its appropriate Words and Music, give complementary strata to these moving pictures, making it an get no mainstream or studio-made film can like.

Juno, for illustrate, is an Unrestricted film that was clapped not but for its capital (it was nominated in the Oscar Awards for Best Pic, after all) but also for its soundtrack. The soundtrack of Juno is the only picture soundtrack to reach the top spot of hit graphs since the soundtrack of Titanic was ejected in 1997. The Vocals and their Words that adorned the soundtrack (and also the film) are quirky but grade-appropriate. One song from the soundtrack is Vampire, from the Antsy Pants, with odd but attention-getting Lyrics that go like this: So I’m sad and I feel lonely / So I cry and I’m very angry / And I hate some garlic / So I’m so no more sad and / Ache yeah yeah. Of course, the Lyric Poems of this doesnt necessarily add to the narrative of the film, but they do more than thatthe Lyrics give the celluloid texture and lineament.

Otherwise noted song from Juno is Anyone Else But You, by The Moldy Peaches (although performed in the film by actors Michael Cera and Ellen Page). The Words of Anyone Else But You is tending for the film, since it distinguishes the family relationship of the two main characters of the film. The Lyric Poems is easy and fond, but not the in the way pop Songs are. For representative: I kiss you on the brain in the shadow of a train / I kiss you all starry eyed, my body’s swinging from side to side / I don’t see what anyone can see, in anyone else / But you.

Available motion picture Once (an Irish film that was produced for less than 200,000 dollars) was even more thriving. winning when it was loosed in America, Once became a critics preferred thanks to its subtle and sensitive take on a usually love story. But what made it more appealing was its beautiful soundtrack, with Euphony and Lyrics created by the films main stars, Glen Hansard and Margeta Irglova. Its main vocal, Falling Slowly, even received the Oscar Awards for Best song. Of course, the Lyrics fit the intact motif of the film (sample Lyric Poems: Falling slowly, eyes that know me / And I can’t go back / Moods that take me and erase me / And I’m painted black / You have hadst enough / And warred with yourself / It’s time that you won).
